TENERIFE SOUTH - MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES
If you are looking for a place where you can enjoy beautiful weather almost all year round, you've come to the right place in Tenerife South!
It is therefore the most popular destination area for people who like to enjoy a relaxed beach holiday.
The south of the island is blessed with many beautiful beaches. If you have booked accommodation in this region, there is always a beautiful beach within walking distance.
THE 5 MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES IN THE SOUTH
PLAYA DEL DUQUE SUR
With its golden sand, swaying palm trees, and azure blue water, this beach is the undisputed highlight of Costa Adeje. It is wheelchair and stroller accessible, and a special water wheelchair is available (obtainable from the lifeguard).
Here, you'll find luxury sunbeds, straw umbrellas, clean restrooms, and upscale, albeit somewhat pricey, beach bars.
For visitors on a smaller budget, it's good to know that just a 3-minute walk from the beach, at C.C. The Corner, there's a supermarket. Here, you can find affordable cold drinks and snacks.
PLAYA DEL DUQUE NORTE
Although this beach, with its dark natural sand, may appear as a contrast to the adjacent Playa del Duque Sur, it undeniably possesses a certain charm.
The bay is sheltered by breakwaters, making it possible to swim in calm waters almost all year round. Ideal for those who enjoy leisurely laps in the water.
Playa del Duque Norte offers comfortable sunbeds, parasols, and showers. Although there is no public restroom, beach visitors are free to use the restroom at the beach bar.
PLAYA DIEGO HERNÁNDEZ
This hidden gem is also known to locals as Spaghetti Beach. The name originated when a hippie living on this beach prepared a large pot of spaghetti for beachgoers for a small fee.
This popular nudist beach is hidden between the fishing villages of La Caleta and El Puertito. It can be reached via a narrow sandy path from both villages, which takes about 30 to 40 minutes to walk. This is a protected natural area, and therefore, there are no facilities available. There are also no trash bins, so please take your waste with you after your visit.
PLAYA EL PUERTITO DE ADEJE
In the bay of El Puertito de Adeje, you can find one of the most beautiful natural beaches in the municipality of Adeje. Although it's not very wide, this beach is definitely worth a visit.
One of the highlights is the opportunity to spot large sea turtles in the crystal-clear waters. It's therefore advisable to wear a snorkel mask if you plan to swim here.
The charming fishing village of El Puertito has maintained its unique character, away from mass tourism. There is only one local restaurant, where you can enjoy delicious tapas.
Unfortunately, the future of this idyllic bay is uncertain due to the plan to transform the surrounding territory into a luxury resort. It is therefore recommended to visit El Puertito and its beach while it is still in its original state.
PLAYA DE LAS VISTAS
This 850-meter-long light-colored beach is located right on the promenade between Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas. It is fully equipped with amenities such as sunbeds, showers, toilets, and lifeguards. Thanks to the breakwaters, this wide coastal stretch is well-protected and therefore perfect for swimming.
The adjacent beach Playa del Camisón is also worth a visit. It's a slightly smaller – but no less beautiful – version of Playa de las Vistas.
Along the coastline, you'll find charming bars and restaurants. Especially the C.C. San Telmo is ideal for a delightful lunch or a relaxed drink after a day at the beach. In the evening, San Telmo transforms into a popular spot for a night out.
