Insider tip
This area is one of the best spots on Tenerife to spot whales and dolphins in their natural environment — daily boat tours depart from the port of Los Gigantes, allowing you to see the animals in the wild and admire the impressive cliffs from the sea.

All Inclusive – Golf del Sur
Are you a true all-inclusive fan looking for a week where you can just relax without leaving the resort? Then Golf del Sur is a surprisingly great choice: sun, sea, pools, and top-notch entertainment are at the heart of this area.
Besides the beautiful golf courses, you can also enjoy walks along the coast. If you want to go out for a day, the bohemian town of El Médano — a surfers’ paradise — is just 20 minutes away. There are several hotels and resorts in the area, but when it comes to All-Inclusive, one really stands out (reservations for this hotel are made via Booking.com — a reliable and clear platform with flexible terms):
Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife
5-star all-inclusive resort
This is all-inclusive at its Caribbean best: a large, themed resort where you can easily spend a whole week without ever leaving the property. The fantasy theme is everywhere, from the Disney-style castle by the pool to the professional evening shows, entertainment, and a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

There’s a comprehensive kids’ and teens’ club program, a creatively designed water park at the children’s pool, and several other pools, including an adults-only infinity pool. During the day, plenty of activities are on offer, and in the evenings families can enjoy professional shows in the theater.
Food lovers are in for a treat here: besides the large international buffet, there are several à-la-carte restaurants for true gourmets, including a steakhouse, Japanese, and Italian options. Plenty of variety! And if you get a late-night craving, no problem — snacks are available 24/7.
If you feel like dining outside the resort, a scenic coastal path takes you to the picturesque fishing village of Los Abrigos in about 25 minutes, known for its excellent seafood restaurants. El Médano is also easy to reach — a 15-minute bus ride brings you to this lively surfers’ town.
Good to know: you’re on the east side of Tenerife, with beautiful sunrises but also slightly more wind. The pools, however, are sheltered, so you’ll hardly notice it there.
Perfect for:
- Families with children looking for luxury, convenience, and top-notch entertainment
- All-inclusive enthusiasts who like having everything at their fingertips

Good to know when booking All Inclusive (AI):
- The wristband
At most all-inclusive hotels, you’ll receive a wristband at check-in. This shows that you have access to all AI facilities. If you prefer not to wear it visibly outside the hotel, ask at reception if they can loosen it a bit or attach it to your watch. In practice, you hardly notice it — it’s simply part of the concept. - Cups by the pool
For safety reasons, glass isn’t allowed around pools. That’s why many all-inclusive resorts use sturdy plastic or reusable cups at self-service bars. It’s not a cost-cutting measure — it’s purely for safety. - Packed lunch
In the past, hotels would provide packed lunches on request for day trips. Due to stricter hygiene regulations, most hotels no longer offer this. You can ask at reception what’s possible, but grabbing something local along the way is also a fun option.
Why I deliberately left out the north
All-inclusive hotels are scarce in the north — and honestly, they don’t really fit here. This part of Tenerife offers a very different experience than the touristy south: rugged coastlines, lush greenery, and an authentic atmosphere, whether you’re strolling along the jagged cliffs of Puerto de la Cruz or through the lively shopping streets of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Tourism exists, but it’s much more intertwined with the local culture.
This region is less suited for a pure beach holiday, but it’s perfect for those who want to combine sun and nature with a taste of Canarian charm — cozy tascas and excellent restaurants where you can discover the local cuisine.
If you really want to experience the north, a hotel with breakfast is the better choice, so you can fully enjoy the local atmosphere.
